Rain may cause flash flooding in Chagi, Noushki, Kharan, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah and Quetta areas of Balochistabn during the next 24 hours, PMD said today.
According to the PMD statement, moderate to few heavy snowfall may cause road closure and slippery conditions in Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah and Qilla Saifullah during forecast period. A westerly wave is affecting western parts of the country and likely to approach upper parts tonight.
Mainly cold and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country, while very cold and partly cloudy in hilly areas. Rain/snow is likely in northwestern Balochistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit Baltistan, Kashmir, Murree and Galliyat. Moderate to dense fog (in patches) is likely to persist in most districts of Punjab, upper Sindh and plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Past 24 Hour Weather: Cold and dry weather prevailed in most parts of the country, while very cold and partly cloudy in hilly areas. Moderate to dense fog prevailed over most parts of Punjab and upper Sindh. Today’s recorded lowest minimum temperature (°C) were: Leh -11, Skardu -09, Gupis -07, Astore, Kalat -06, Rawalakot, Kalam -04, Malam Jabba and Hunza -03.
