Rally staged in Larkana against arrest of nationalists, Bahria town

LARKANA: Members of Sindh High Court Bar Association and District Bar Association, Larkana, took out a rally from District Courts Wednesday which after marching through various roads culminated at Jinnah Bagh where the participants staged a demonstration and shouted slogans against Bahria Town.

Advocates Ishrat Abro, Qazi Hamid, Sher Ali Jatoi, Sattar Hulio and others said while addressing the participants that land leased out to Bahria Town belongs to the poor people of Sindh which should be cancelled immediately. They strongly condemned lodging of fake and fabricated cases against peaceful protesters, nationalist leaders and demanded to withdraw the same and release all arrested people immediately.

Meanwhile, various nationalist parties’ activists under the banner of Sindh Action Committee (SAC) held a separate demo which was also participated by civil society. The parties include JSQM, SUP, JSSF, Awami Tahreek, STP, Sindh Naujawan Ittehad, Sindh Adabi Sangat and others. They were holding banners, party flags in their hands and also chanted slogans demanding withdrawal of cases and release of arrested leaders and workers of Bahria Town protest.

They accused PPP and Malik Riaz of hatching a conspiracy against them to grab more precious lands of Sindh which they said they will not allow at all. They said such projects are Sindh-enemy and cannot be tolerated. They said old villages of Karachi have been forcibly demolished and the residents have been rendered homeless which is a shameful act and should be condemned by everyone. They said if this state of land grabbing continued then their struggle would turn from condemnation to resistance. They said land grabbing mafia should be discouraged at all forums across the province. Sadar Bhatti, Fatah Janwai, Ali Hassan Wako, Ustabnd Gul Dayo, Aslam Tunio, Riaz Magsi and others took part in the demo.
