Srinagar, January 20, 2018 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslin Conference (JKMC) in a meeting presided over by its Chairman, Mohammad Sultan Magray, in Srinagar denounced the rape and murder of an 8-year-old girl in Kathua district of Jammu. The girl, Asifa Bano, who had gone missing a week ago, was found dead under mysterious circumstances in Hiranagar tehsil of Hindu-dominated Kathua district.
Addressing the meeting, Muhammad Sultan Magray condemned the Indian state terrorism in the territory and appealed to the world community and international human rights organizations including Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch to put pressure on India to stop human rights violations in the territory.
He said a big segment of Muslims on eve of partition of sub-continent in 1947 had opted to live in India but now are repenting about their decision due to brutalities they were facing at the hands of extremist Hindus. The party General Secretary, Merajuddin Soleh, in his speech, denouncing the continued Indian state terrorism in occupied Kashmir said that killings and arrests could not suppress the Kashmiris’ resolve for freedom.
