Rehmani welcomes China, Pakistan envoys’ Kashmir statements

Islamabad, August 17, 2019 (PPI-OT): The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League (JKPFL), Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, has welcomed the separate statements of China and Pakistan envoys in and outside the United Nations Security Council on Friday.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani in a statement issued in Islamabad urged permanent and non-permanent UNSC members and members of the General Assembly to remain focused on the violations of human rights, charter, manifesto, relevant UN SC resolutions and agreements, by India in Jammu and Kashmir.

He said, in occupied Kashmir inhabitants have been divided, annexed and enslaved as in medieval ages and subjected to inhuman treatment, put under the worst curfew, lockdown and abduction of children, under new draconian ordinance of the Hindutva regime of Narendra Modi (scrapping special status clauses of the constitution). Should the same lockdown position be thrust on any region in their own free world, how they would react, he asked.

He urged the permanent members of the Security Council to change the format into formal sessions of the Council and resolve to prevent India from changing the historical character of Jammu and Kashmir in violations of the international resolutions.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani denounced Indian Defence Minister’s veiled threatening remarks to abandon policy of ‘no first use’ of atomic weapons and said India’s military adventurism in Kashmir must be an eye-opener for the Security Council to organize sessions to avert regional insecurity and instability in the South Asia.
