Reign of terror in Pulwama and Shopian denounced

Srinagar, May 02, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyat leaders have strongly condemned the reign of terror unleashed by Indian forces in Pulwama and Shopian for the past many days. The Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim Conference, Shabbir Ahmad Dar, Mohammad Iqbal Mir, Imtiyaz Ahmed Reshi, Ghulam Nabi War and Ghulam Nabi Wasim in their statements said that the mass arrest of youth, nocturnal raids and harassment had created fear among the whole population and people had been forced to migrate to other areas.

They said the people of Kashmir have rejected the sham election in the territory and would also stay away from the third phase of polling for Islamabad parliamentary constituency scheduled on May 6. They said the boycott by almost ninety percent so far has again raised serious questions about the credibility of this electoral process as the absence of electorate has given a clear message that people of Kashmir wanted their right to self-determination.
