Religious Scholars Should Promote a Culture of Peace: Minister HR and Minorities Affairs 

Lahore, September 22, 2021 (PPI-OT):Provincial Minister for HR and Minorities Affairs Ijaz Alam Augustine attended a cake cutting and prayer ceremony held at a local hotel in connection with World Peace Day on Tuesday. Parliamentarians, religious leaders, lawyers and media persons attended the function.

The Provincial Minister Ijaz Alam said Pakistan could become an example of love, sacrifice and judicious distribution of resources if religious leaders promote the message of peace and harmony in the society. Religious scholars have a great responsibility to help change the destiny of the nation while the role of scholars in reducing societal hatred cannot be overlooked, he stated.

He said the culture of societal acceptability should be encouraged to promote a peaceful society. The speakers acknowledged the teachings of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and pledged to promote religious harmony and peace in the country. The speakers also highlighted the importance of peace while acknowledging the efforts of the Punjab government for maintaining peace in the province.
