Dr Akash Ansari, a prominent poet and writer from Sindh, lost his life while his son sufferred injuries while saving his father in the house fire that broke out in Qasimabad area of Hyderabad in the wee hours of Sunday.

According to the rescue services, the fire, reported to have been caused by a short-circuit, spread rapidly through the house. Dr Ansari, 75, was severely burnt and died from his injuries. His son, who attempted to rescue him, was also burnt and rushed to Civil Hospital for treatment by Rescue 1122 personnel.

The fire department rushed to the scene, using fire trucks to contain the flames and prevent further damage. The police have started an investigation into the incident from all angles.

Dr Ansari, hailing from Badin, was well-known in literary circles for his significant contributions to poetry and literature. His untimely death has left a void in the cultural community of Sindh.

In reaction to the incident, Sindh Minister for Culture and Tourism Syed Zulfiqar Ali Shah, expressed his sorrow, calling the loss of Dr Ansari a tragedy for the literary world. He extended his condolences to the family and urged authorities to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident.
