Residents of Kellar protest against army’s atrocities

Srinagar, March 09, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the residents of Kellar area of Shopian district observed shutdown and staged protests, today, against the atrocities of Indian Army. Locals said that every day they were thrashed by the army troops of Mastpora camp. “Till now five to eight youth have been beaten,” they said.

The locals said that a youth, Myser Ahmad Khanday, had been beaten many times. They said the army personnel snatch their identity cards and mobile phones and ask them to visit their camp.

“Some days ago they (troops) snatched the mobile phones of three brothers and asked them to visit army camp to collect the phones and their identity cards. However, when they visited the camp, they were beaten up,” the residents said. On Friday night another youth Umar Dar of Chowan area of Keller was admitted to hospital after he was beaten up by troops, they added.
