ISLAMABAD:Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif has said restoring dignity of the parliament and transparent elections are important for the country.

Talking to media persons outside the Supreme Court on Thursday, he expressed the confidence that the apex court will soon announce verdict in the suo motu case regarding political situation, in view of the adverse impact of current uncertainty on the economy. He termed the interim Prime Minister Imran Khan as Nazi leader Adolf Hitler, besides terming the ruling party’s decisions to dissolve the National Assembly and dismiss the vote of no-confidence as an unconstitutional power-grab.

Shehbaz Sharif elaborated that Nazi Hitler prevailed to dissolve the Reichstag (German Parliament) and thereby solidified his position by abrogating the Constitution and ending the Weimar Republic. He said Imran Niazi was doing the same in Pakistan, which was unfortunate. The PML-N President regretted that unconstitutional actions of April 3 would be remembered as the day the constitution was sabotaged and trampled upon. He said by dismissing the no-confidence motion, the Deputy Speaker Qasim Suri issued the Prime Minister a stay-order.

He also urged the National Security Council (NSC) to bring forth the minutes of the meeting regarding the diplomatic cable accusing the opposition of conspiring against the Prime Minister Imran Khan. He called the interim Prime Minister Imran Khan as a “liar” and a “fraud”. He said Pakistan could only be saved if the Constitution was implemented in letter and spirit and respected.
