Restrictions in Srinagar to prevent anti-India demos

Srinagar, October 19, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have imposed restrictions in Srinagar to prevent people from staging demonstrations, today, against the surge in killings by Indian troops. The restrictions have been imposed in the jurisdictions of Nowhatta, Khanyar, Rainawari, Maharaj Gunj, Safa Kadal and Maisuma police stations with heavy deployments of Indian troops and police personnel.

The authorities have also ordered closure of schools and colleges to prevent student protests. Classes at the Kashmir University have also been suspended for the day. The Joint Resistance Leadership comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik has urged the religious scholars to highlight the brutalities being committed by the Indian forces’ personnel during their Friday sermons at the mosques.
