Rich tributes paid to Kashmiri martyrs of July 13, 1931

Muzaffarabad, July 13, 2021 (PPI-OT):The International Forum for Justice Human Rights Jammu and Kashmir organized a protest in Muzaffarabad to pay homage to the Kashmiri martyrs of July 13, 1931. The protesters marched from Burhan Wani Chowk to the gate of the district complex. They vowed that the struggle for freedom will continue till the Kashmiris get their inalienable right to self-determination.

Muhammad Ahsan Untoo, Chairman International Forum for Justice Human Rights, while addressing the protesters over phone from Srinagar said the July 13 tragedy is an important milestone in the history of Kashmir. He said those who offered their sacred blood on that fateful day showed the Kashmiri nation the way to freedom from oppression. After this incident, many such tragedies took place in the history of Kashmir which send shivers down the spine of people but sadly they the world has acted as a mute spectator, he deplored.

Vice Chairman Forum Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Prof. Abdul Aziz Alvi, Chairman Pasban-e-Hurriyat Uzair Ghazali, Usman Ali Hashim, Qari Bilal Ahmed Farooqi, Mahmood Ahmed Shah, Nasir Khan Lodi, Bilal Ahmed, Babar Ahmed and others addressed the protest and paid tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs of July 13, 1931.

Meanwhile, in connection with the call given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference regarding the Kashmir Martyrs’ Day, a function was held today in Kotli under the chairmanship of Raja Munsif Dad Khan, District Education Officer Kotli in which Amjad Ali Mughal Deputy Commissioner Kotli, Mahmood Akhtar Qureshi Advocate Vice Chairman Jammu and Kashmir Pir Panjal Peace Foundation, Assistant Superintendent of Police Kotli specially participated.

Addressing on the occasion, Advocate Mahmood Akhtar Qureshi and other speakers paid rich tributes to the Kashmiri martyrs. They expressed the hope that due to the sacrifices of the martyrs, the goal of freedom of Kashmir is drawing nearer and nearer. They said that Indian atrocities and brutal tactics could not subdue the spirit of freedom. They appealed to the United Nations and international human rights bodies to put pressure on India to resolve the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the Kashmiris’ aspirations.
