Rickshaw owners protest for recovery of five looted vehicles

Larkana:The members of Rickshaw Drivers Labour Union, Larkana, took out a rally and staged a sit-in in this sizzling heat on Tuesday at Jinnah Bagh, demanding recovery of five rickshaws looted from their owners a month ago.

Union leaders Anwar Jatoi, Allah Rakhiyo Mugheri, Zafar Shah, Ghulam Qadir Soomro, Fayaz Bozdar Azhar Khokhar and others while talking to newsmen, alleged that influential armed criminals had forcibly snatched five rickshaws from Larkana and its adjoining areas out of which three were snatched from the limits of Rasheed Wagan police station, one each from the jurisdiction of Bakrani and Taluka police stations, but the police was constantly keeping the owners on false commitments and had done nothing as yet to recover the looted three-wheelers.

They said they were extremely poor and earned their livelihood through those auto vehicles to support their poverty-ridden families. The affectees further alleged that incidents of snatching and stealing rickshaws had increased manifold in the entire district in which a gang was involved and was allegedly supported by the cops.

They said 20 days ago, passengers snatched a rickshaw from Fayaz Bozdar in the limits of Rasheed Wagan police station and one day back, Azhar Khokhar was deprived of his three-wheelers within the limits of Bakrani police station. Reports were immediately lodged at the relevant police stations, but nothing had been done yet, which proved that criminals were more powerful than cops.
