Rs53m bank heist: Six officials suspended; Probe underway

CHAGAI: Sultan Jaffar, Regional Head, National Bank of Pakistan has said that investigation into the robbery of Rs53 million in Taftan area was underway and in that regard the services of Manager, Cashier and four other officials of National Bank, Taftan Branch had been placed under suspension on account of negligence.

 

Talking to media at Circuit House Dalbandin here on Wednesday, he said that it was not a trivial incident as Rs53 million had been looted during transfer of amount from Taftan area to Dalbandin. He added that the CID was also probing the matter. He said that he had been in close contact with Deputy Commissioner, Chagai, Agha Shair Zaman and tribal elders of the area, adding that any updates regarding the subject case would accordingly be shared with media.
