According to the Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan, on 21 June 2025, the Pakistani Rupee depreciated sharply against major international currencies. The British Pound (GBP) reached 384.47 rupees while the Euro reached 329.28 rupees.
The US dollar also strengthened and reached a high of 285.73 rupees. The Japanese Yen reached 1.95 rupees while the UAE Dirham (AED) reached 78.03 rupees. The Saudi Riyal (SAR) also reached 76.29 rupees against the Pakistani currency.
These values reflect the interbank closing rates provided by the exchange companies. The decline in the value of PKR is likely to affect import costs and may increase inflationary pressures in Pakistan. The Exchange Companies Association of Pakistan did not offer any explanation for the currency fluctuations.
