SAI asks Sindh govt to provide SOPs

KARACHI:President Site Association of Industry (SAI) Suleman Chawla on Wednesday appealed to the Sindh government to provide SOPs with immediate effect instead of shutting down industries as the industries were already facing severe financial crisis due to the lockdown in Pakistan and coronavirus outbreak in USA and European countries.

In a statement, Chawla said that the industrialist community had supported the government in every difficult time and still offered its support to the government once again despite the stringent measures to prevent coronavirus outbreak and lockdown.

“How long will the industrialists keep their factories locked up, if the situation becomes more serious, then industries will be destroyed and there will be an unstable economic crisis, so the government should adopt a strategy to keep the wheels of the industry moving and worker’s jobs may be saved”, he added. Chawla urged the Sindh govt to notify SOPs for the industries at the earliest with a view to save the industries from destruction.
