Saifuddin Advocate, the opposition leader for JamaateIslami in the City Council, has strongly criticized the Sindh government.

He stated that the government has failed to ensure public safety and empower local bodies. Condemning the attack on a school bus in Khuzdar and the martyrdom of children as an act of terrorism, Saifuddin mentioned that the government is not taking effective measures.

Saifuddin Advocate expressed concern over the deteriorating law and order situation in Sindh, highlighting that protesters set the home of the Interior Minister on fire. He pointed out the failed vision of the People’s Party in Karachi, where the city is facing water shortages and infrastructure destruction.

He emphasized that local bodies should have been given authority and resources, but the Sindh government has seized control of these resources. Institutions like KDA and Solid Waste Management are under government control, with billions in contracts being awarded to private parties.

Saifuddin Advocate accused the government of launching billionrupee schemes without consulting local representatives, deceiving the public with fake projects. He claimed that assembly members are being bribed and developmental funds are being utilized through PIDC.

He appealed to the court to grant local bodies their rightful powers and ensure that funds are used through these institutions as per the Supreme Court’s directives. He also expressed concern over the lack of progress on the KIV project in Karachi and the disruption of water supply under the pretext of repairing water lines.
