Samina Alvi urges business community to play its role for the inclusion of differently abled people in economic process

Karachi, January 04, 2021 (PPI-OT): The first lady of Pakistan Samina Alvi has urged the business community to play its role for the inclusion of differently abled people in economic process and to support their skill development endeavours. She was addressing a meeting arranged by the Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) here on Saturday.

Patron-in-Chief of KATI SM Muneer, President Saleem-uz-Zaman, Chairman and CEO KITE Zubair Chhaya, Senior Vice President Zaki Sharif, Vice President Nighat Awan and head of KATI’s standing committee on Differently abled people Maheen Salman also expressed their views on this occasion, according to press release issued today.

The first lady said that disabled people are the most ignored people of our society even in our public infrastructure, and their needs are not considered. She informed that Governor SBP had assured that initiatives to facilitate differently-abled people would be taken soon. The first lady said that industrialist community should play its role to facilitate and provide employment to differently abled people.

She said special people don’t get jobs even after their designated quota in government jobs and those who get any position were not being encouraged. She said that industrialists could play their role for the welfare of special people by providing them employment and entrepreneurship opportunities.

SM Muneer said: “We fully support the sacred mission of the first lady for the welfare of special people.” He said that price hike was the biggest challenge to the government and for last few days, measures taken by PM Khan had resulted in reduction of food prices. He said that business community rejected all statements to malign armed forces of Pakistan.

He said that great sacrifices of our defense forces ensured the prosperity and integrity of this country. President of KATI Saleem-uz-Zaman said that a comprehensive policy frame work was the need of time to provide education, training and employment to the special people to make them part of the economic process of the country.
