ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan Wednesday warned the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan to arrest him if he or his party workers hold a protest in front of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) office located in the Red Zone in Islamabad tomorrow (Thursday).

This he warned holding a press conference in Islamabad along with the Federal Information Minister Maryam Aurangzeb. He said that entry into the red zone will not be allowed to the PTI at all. Talking to the media persons, the Interior Minister said there are reports that PTI may attack the ECP and spread chaos in the name of the protest in the Red Zone tomorrow.

The interior minister warned PTI not to try to enter red zone as any kind of protests are strictly prohibited in the red zone of the federal capital. Sanaullah said peaceful protests can be held outside the red zone in the fixed areas of F-Nine Park and Parade Ground from the court.

He said anyone who will try to violate the laws will be dealt with severely. He said the PTI has proved to be a foreign-funded party and Imran Khan an agent of external powers. Sanaullah said PTI Chairman Imran Khan sought money from foreign countries to spread hatred and chaos in the country.

He told the media that an important meeting of the federal cabinet would be held tomorrow, in which decisions would be made in the light of the decision of the ECP against the PTI and Imran Khan. He informed that according to the law, one’s name could be put in the ECL, and if there was a need to arrest someone, they would do it. The federal interior minister also said that the provincial governments were responsible for maintaining law and order in Muharram.
