SAPM meets EU Ambassador

Islamabad, October 07, 2020 (PPI-OT): Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Youth Affairs M. Usman Dar met EU ambassador in Pakistan Ms. Androulla Kaminara here at Islamabad today. The meeting focussed on exploring possibilities for future collaboration between PM’s Kamyab Jawan Programme and European Union towards youth development in Pakistan. Mr. Dar highlighted various initiatives of the government launched under the umbrella of PM’s Kamyab Jawan Programme.

“We have started Rs. 100 billion loans scheme for Youth to enable them in setting up small and medium sized businesses. Additionally, 100, 000 youth will be given technical skills and trainings in traditional as well as hi-tech fields under Hunarmand Pakistan scheme”, said Mr. Dar. Ms. Androulla Kaminara said that EU is assisting in the fields of education, agriculture, rural development and other areas in Pakistan.

She said that EU had a budget of 618 million Euros for seven years (2014-2020) utilized for intervention in various areas in Pakistan. “Budgetary allocations for next seven years will be finalized within a couple of months”, she added. Mr. Dar emphasized for prioritizing youth related projects in future. It was agreed to hold follow up meetings in regard to ensuring youth-centred collaboration between EU and PM Kamyab Jawan Programme. Senior officials of the PM Office were also present during the meeting.
