The Information Technology Center (ITC) of Sindh Agriculture University (SAU), Tandojam, participated in the National Championship of Final Year Projects 2022-23, organized under the National Grassroots ICT Research Initiative by IGNITE and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications in Islamabad.
According to the university information on Wednesday, the ITC-SAU team secured the 7th position among the top 30 selected projects from universities across the country. Under the supervision of Dr. Muhammad Yaqoob Koondhar, graduates from ITC of SAU, Saifullah Koondhar and Nimra Zahid, competed in the championship and earned notable recognition.
In this championship, more than 180 HEC-registered universities from across the country applied for funding, out of which only 140 received it. A total of 4,400 projects were submitted, and 1,200 received funding, but only 30 projects were shortlisted for the championship. The ITC team from Sindh Agriculture University not only made it to this distinguished group but also achieved an impressive 7th position with their project titled “Health Monitoring System for Livestock Based on AI and IoT.”
This achievement highlights the exceptional academic services and the extraordinary work being done under the capable leadership of Sindh Agriculture University. It showcases the innovative ideas and technological advancements presented by their graduates on a prestigious platform.
During the event, Capt. (Retd.) Muhammad Mahmood, Federal Secretary, Ministry of IT and Telecom, and Adeel Aijaz Shaikh, CEO of IGNITE, distributed certificates and shields among the successful graduates and university officials.
SAU Vice Chancellor Dr. Fateh Marri congratulated the entire ITC team and the successful graduates on this achievement and commended IGNITE and the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunications for organizing such a significant event to highlight the capabilities of young researchers and technologists from universities.
