In a meeting chaired by Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf here on Saturday, religious scholars called on Muslim and non-Muslim countries to implement measures respecting the sanctities of Islam, particularly the holy Prophets (Peace Be Upon Them). The assembly emphasized the need for international legislation to curb blasphemous acts under the guise of freedom of expression.
The gathering made an appeal to religious scholars nationwide to underscore the importance of safeguarding the sanctity of the Holy Prophet in their Friday sermons. Additionally, they were urged to instruct the youth on the constructive use of social media and to avoid disseminating blasphemous or inciting content.
It was announced that the forthcoming National Seerat-un-Nabi (Peace Be Upon Him) Conference will focus on: “State Responsibilities in Educating and Training the Beneficial Use of Social Media – In the Light of the Seerat Nabi Sallallah Alaih Wa Aalihi Wasalam.” The event aims to address the role of the state in fostering responsible social media usage.
