Second Round of OIC-China Political Consultations to begin Wednesday

Jeddah At the invitation of the Chinese Foreign Ministry, a high-level delegation from the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will start a week-long visit to China on Wednesday to participate in the Second Round of Bilateral Political Consultations, within the framework of the mechanism agreed between the two parties.

The OIC delegation is set to hold consultations with Chinese officials on the relations between the Islamic world and China. The consultations will also discuss developments in the Middle East, the foremost among which the Palestinian issue and Jerusalem as well as the Arab-Israeli conflict.

The talks will further tackle the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, Afghanistan, the situation of Muslim communities and minorities in non-member countries, human rights issues, Islamophobia, and the fight against terrorism and violent extremism.

Furthermore, the two sides will discuss aspects of cooperation in the fields of science, technology, culture and development projects in the least developed member countries.

The OIC delegation, led by Assistant Secretary General for Political Affairs Ambassador Yousef Al-Dhubaeyi, comprises officials from the departments of political affairs, Muslim minorities and communities, dialogue and outreach, and information.
