Senate Chairman calls for Initiating New Projects to Over Come Water Shortage in Balochistan

Islamabad, February 11, 2019 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda called on Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani at Parliament House on Monday. Leader of House in Senate Senator Shibli Faraz and Chairman WAPDA Lt. Gen. (R) Muzammil Hussain were also present during the meeting. The Federal Minister and WAPDA Chief apprised the Chairman Senate about the ongoing development projects in the country.

Speaking on this occasion Senate Chairman Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani directed for timely completion ongoing projects in water sector especially those in the province of Balochistan. He also directed for initiating new projects to overcome the water shortage in different areas of Balochistan.

Chairman Senate said that sufficient water is available in Chaghi areas of Balochistan for construction of a dam and practical measures are required to this effect. On the direction of the Chairman Senate, Chairman WAPDA assured that a technical team would visit the Chaghi area of Balochistan to review the on ground situation and concrete measures would be taken for construction of a dam in the area at the earliest. The Federal Minister for Water Resources assured that the government would extend all possible support for developing the water resources and construction of new dam in the Chaghi Area.
