Islamabad, March 11, 2019 (PPI-OT): Senate Secretariat on Monday bade farewell to Justice (R) Muhammad Raza Khan who worked with the Secretariat as head of the Legislative Drafting Unit on honorary basis for almost two years. Secretary Senate while expressing gratitude for the exemplary services of Justice (R) Muhammad Raza said that the Senate Secretariat was striving to develop an effective in-house drafting unit and in this respect the experience of Justice (R) Muhammad Raza helped in unspeakable ways. The Legislative Drafting Unit is now fully functional and is contributing to better legislation.
Under the guidance of Justice (R) Muhammad Raza and with special insight of Senate leadership Senate Secretariat managed to get patronage of Inter-Parliamentary Union and developed a working relationship with Diet Assembly of Japan to share experiences in the field of law drafting. Justice (R) Raza said that legislation and drafting are two different areas of law-making but have overlapping structure which demands careful understanding. Justice (R) Muhammad Raza Khan was given a shield by Secretary Senate Amjed Pervez in recognition of his services for the Senate Secretariat.
