Miandad Rahoojo, Commissioner of the Sindh Employees Social Security Institution (SESSI), has announced that worker contribution payments will now be demanded from the date of registration. Additionally, the audit mechanism for registered units will be revised. Rahoojo also revealed plans to increase the number of SESSI dispensaries in the SITE area to enhance healthcare access.
Addressing the SITE Association of Industry, Rahoojo highlighted that registered units will have the opportunity for arbitration at the Association’s office before receiving notices under section 81, according to a statement issued by the association today. He also emphasized that action will be taken against officers conducting double visits per year.
The SESSI Commissioner announced the construction of a full-fledged cancer hospital on the land adjacent to Valika Hospital and upgrading of many Dispensaries of interior Sindh to hospitals. He informed that Mazdoor Card is being misused and an inquiry in such a matter is under process. He suggested that NADRA should link the family tree with the Card chip and organization’s name should be printed thereon.
In response to concerns about the SESSI Valika Hospital, the Commissioner promised improvements. He introduced Hospital Management Committees with financial authority to resolve issues quickly. Plans include the procurement of high-quality medicines, improved consultant salaries, and the construction of model operation theatres at Valika and Landhi hospitals. Additionally, new partnerships with universities are being formed to provide laboratory services, and a mammography machine is being acquired for the Valika hospital.
