Several civilians injured in Pulwama blast

Srinagar, June 18, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, several civilians were injured in a grenade blast in Pulwama, today. Unidentified persons hurled a grenade towards Pulwama police station which exploded on the roadside. In the explosion, at least eight pedestrians were injured and were immediately evacuated to a nearby hospital for treatment. Among the injured, two critically wounded were referred to Srinagar hospital for specialized treatment.

Following the blast, Indian troops and police personnel cordoned off the area and launched a hunt to nab the attackers. Two persons were killed and six others were injured after their boat capsized in tourist resort of Pahalgam in south Kashmir, today. Reports said that a boat with eight persons on board capsized in Lidder River.

An operation was immediately launched and all the occupants were rescued from the river. However, two among them, identified as a tourism department employee Rinku Raja Pandita and a woman participant, Sanjana – both residents of Jammu – were shifted to a hospital in a critical condition where they were declared brought dead.
