Several youth injured in troops’ firing in Baramulla

Srinagar, March 12, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, several youth were injured when Indian troops fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells on protesters in Baramulla district. Indian troops during a violent cordon and search operation and door-to-door searches fired bullets, pellets and teargas shells on the people who were protesting against the Indian army’s operation at Tantrey Pora in Palhalan area of the district. The injured youth were taken to hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, Indian troops forced people to come out of their houses despite heavy rain at Gonipora in Tangmarg area of Baramulla district. The locals told media men that they were forced to stay in the open for hours. The troops also launched cordon and search operations in several areas of Kulgam, Shopian and Pulwama districts. Drones were also used in Kulgam during the operation.

On the other hand, thousands of people participated in the funeral of martyred 24-year-old Mudasir Khan who was laid to rest at his native Midoora village in Tral town. He was martyred by Indian troops during a cordon and search operation in Pinglish area of the town.

Locals told media that Mudasir’s body was charred beyond recognition. After four back-to-back rounds of funeral prayers, Mudasir was laid to rest at his ancestral graveyard. In another incident, a 33-year-old man Rajinder Singh was arrested with two grenades and a detonator outside an Indian army camp in Poonch district, a senior police official said.
