The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a severe weather alert for the period between April 8 and April 12, warning of possible damage to weak infrastructure, including electric poles, trees, vehicles, and solar panels, due to expected storms, hail, and heavy rain.

Most parts of the country are forecasted to experience partially cloudy skies on Thursday. Areas such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Potohar region, northeastern and central Punjab, northeastern and central Balochistan, southeastern Sindh, Kashmir, and GilgitBaltistan are likely to witness strong winds, thunderstorms, and occasional heavy rainfall. Hailstorms could occur in certain locations during this period.

In the past 24 hours, the weather remained hot and dry across most regions, with the highest temperatures recorded in Padidan, Dalbandin, Nokundi at 44°C, and Jacobabad and Dadu at 43°C.

In Islamabad and surrounding areas, partially cloudy skies are anticipated on Thursday, along with strong winds and thunderstorms, with a 55% probability of hail in some places. Similar conditions are expected in several districts of Balochistan, including Quetta, Chaman, Ziarat, Barkhan, Sibi, and others, where heavy rain and hail may occur.

The Punjab region, including cities like Murree, Rawalpindi, Lahore, and Multan, is also predicted to experience strong winds and thunderstorms with potential hailstorms. In Sindh, areas such as Umerkot, Tharparkar, and Mirpur Khas may witness gusty winds and rainfall.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Chitral, Swat, and Peshawar, is forecasted to have partially cloudy weather with expected thunderstorms and rain. GilgitBaltistan and Kashmir are similarly predicted to experience strong winds and thunderstorms, with heavy rainfall and hail possible in some areas.

Residents are advised to take necessary precautions and stay updated on weather forecasts to minimize potential damage and ensure safety during this period.
