Shabbir Shah asks Kashmiris to observe 5th August as Black Day

ISLAMABAD: In Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has appealed the Kashmiri people to observe 5th August as Black Day to convey a strong message to the world that Kashmiris do not accept India’s illegal occupation over Jammu and Kashmir.

According to reports, in their special messages, the APHC Senior Vice Chairman Shabbir Ahmed Shah from Tihar Jail and Vice Chairman, Ghulam Ahmad Gulzar from Srinagar Central Jail called for a complete shutdown, civil curfew and large-scale protest demonstrations on August 05 (Friday).

They said that 5th August is one of the most tragic, painful and darkest day of modern Kashmir history and the Kashmiris will always observe it as exploitation day, day of mourning and a black day. They also appealed the people to offer special prayers for the success of the ongoing freedom movement. Terming 5th August 2019 as one of the worst precedents of Indian colonialism, they said it was on this day when India stripped IIOJK of its special status.

Meanwhile, Senior APHC leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, who continues to remain under house arrest since 4th August 2019, in a statement in Srinagar said Kashmiris will continue their struggle till they achieve right to self-determination. Oppression of India cannot stop them from getting their inalienable right.
