Karachi, October 11, 2018 (PPI-OT): Sindh Minister for Women Development Syeda Shehla Raza has urged upon the women and girls of Lyari area that they will identify themselves to raise their voice against the any violence and tyranny against the women. That is the real life get your rights properly. You are my ambassadors to join hands with me for playing your role in the society. This she observed while addressing at the ceremony held in Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Lyari University Auditorium in connection with International Girls Child’s Rights Day which is being organized by the Women Development Department Sindh here today.
Syeda Shehla Raza while addressing the Girls of Lyari including Women Boxing and Football players has said that they are never lagging behind to their brothers so that they have also capabilities and qualities. You should play your role in every field especially in education and any kind of training. As strong girls is a real picture of strong world.
We should all come forward to protect the women from all violence and should be aware about our (women) rights. As the economic development of any country is only possible through the economic development of women. She further said that helpline 1094 is reactivated to get prompt results with regard to violence and injustice with the women, through the better education and health we could achieve the desired results of our targets and in this regard we have to support any sort of task.
Earlier MPA from Lyari Ms. Shazia Kareem Sanghar, Chairperson Sindh Commission on Women Status Nuzhat Shireen, renowned poets Seema Ghazal also addressed the gathering have said that Sindh Assembly is already concrete legislation for the betterment of the women in Sindh and the Commission has also made empowered to protect the rights and aware about the laws to the women. Commission is working to explore the capabilities of girls and women of Lyari area specially and play its due role in the upliftment of women, discourage the early age marriages.
Lyari Girls are to be encouraged at every level by providing technical skills without any gender indiscrimination and imbalances. Vice Chancellor Lyari University Akhtar Baloch also praised the role and working of the Women Development Department Sindh and Women Commission and said that it is the true picture of vision and mission of Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. He said that 1100 girls students out of 2300 are standing in the University which is the real change instead of slogan change.
He further said that local girls child in the field of boxing, football etc are playing their due role in the society they showed respect dignity and real power of women through their strong character. Director women Development Musarrat Jabeen, Dr. Saira, Yunus Qambrani also spoke with relation to the International Girls Child Right Day. Girls students performed boxing , football and presented tableau in the event. Syeda Shehla Raza also distributed Rs.10,000/- each cash to football and boxing girls students.
Members of PPP Women Wing Ms. Nasima, Ayesha Soomro, Hafeeza Noor, Ruqayya Azad, Gulshan Dad, Khalil Hott and Shakil Chaudhry also attended the ceremony while a details documentary about women’s rights and harassment by Syeda Shehla Raza was also shown to aware the audience.
