ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PPI) leader and former Federal Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari on Tuesday claimed that a voice recorder was found under a coffee table in her bedroom.
She said it violates her rights and the Constitution. Speaking at a press conference shared by the PTI on Twitter, Shireen Mazari along with PTI leader and former Minister for Information Technology Shibli Faraz, claimed that the hidden voice recorder (listening device) was found when a domestic staff member mistakenly bumped into the table.
She said she was in Bani Gala when her domestic staffer called her and informed her about the voice recorder. She also showed the black device (voice recorder). She said it is a violation of Article 14(1), which pertains to inviolability of dignity of a person and privacy of their house) of the Constitution of Pakistan.
Meanwhile, reacting to Shireen Mazari’s claim, PTI leader and former Finance Minister Shaukat Tarin condemned the alleged breach of her house’s privacy. Taking to Twitter, Shaukat Tarin regretted the bugging of Shireen Mazari’s house and asked if there was any protection for constitutional rights of the Pakistani citizens.
