Shutdown in IOK against killings, HR abuses by Indian troops

Srinagar, January 13, 2018 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, complete shutdown is being observed, today, to protest against the surge in killings and other human rights violations by Indian troops. Call for the shutdown has been given by the Joint Resistance Leadership (JRL) comprising Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik against the stepped up Indian state terrorism in the territory. All shops, business establishments, private offices and fuel stations are closed while transport is off the roads.

The puppet authorities have imposed restrictions in Srinagar to prevent people from holding anti-India demonstrations. The authorities have put Hurriyat leaders including Syed Ali Gilani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, Aasiya Andrabi, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Bilal Siddiqi and Umar Aadil Dar under house arrest or in custody to stop them from leading the demonstrations. The occupation authorities have also suspended train services in the Kashmir Valley.
