Shutdown in Pulwama against vandalism by Indian army

Srinagar, July 04, 2018 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, people in Rohmoo area of Pulwama district were left terrified and bruised on Wednesday as the Indian troops thrashed them and vandalized their properties during a four-hour long unprovoked nocturnal raid, last night.

The residents of Rohmoo village in the district told media that the Indian soldiers entered the area late night and ransacked the property without any provocation. The troops arrested at least seven youth during the operation. Besides, they thrashed inmates and threatened them with dire consequences if their children resorted to protest against the Indian Army.

“The soldiers were hitting everything that came their way and they did not even spare the parked vehicles,” said one of the residents. Demanding stern action against the soldiers involved in the vandalization of the civilian property, the residents asked the police to register an FIR against the officer of the local army camp.

S P Pulwama, Muhammad Aslam Chaudhry, confirmed that the police had already received complaints from locals and that they were investigating the case. Complete shutdown was observed in the area, today, against the operation. All shops and other business establishments were closed while traffic was off the road in the area.
