ISLAMABAD:Local and foreign Sikh pilgrims in large numbers reached Kartarpur Corridor to participate in the Baisakhi Mela celebrations at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib, Kartarpur, on Tuesday.
Sardar Ameer Singh President of Pakistan Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee, Deputy Commissioner Narowal Saba Asghar, Head Giani Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur Sardar Gobind Singh and Sardar Sardar Inderjit Singh welcomed the Sikh pilgrims on arrival at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur.
Sikh pilgrims were showered with flower petals and bouquets were also presented to group leaders. Sikh pilgrims Harmish Singh and Jagat Singh who came to Gurdwara Darbar Sahib Kartarpur said that the Pakistan government has proved Baba Guru Nanak’s words true.
Head Giani Sardar Gobind Singh performed religious rites at Gurdwara Darbar Sahib. Sikh pilgrims paid homage to Baba Guru Nanak’s tomb and mausoleum. Sikh pilgrims also distributed sweets in celebration of Baisakhi Mela. Kartarpur Administration had also arranged special Langar (food) for Sikh pilgrims. Sikh pilgrims ate their food at Baba Guru Nanak’s Langar hall.
