Sindh Assembly passed historical Sindh Minorities Rights Commission Bill 2015: Dr. Khatu Mal Jeewan

Karachi, November 17, 2016 (PPI-OT):Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh for Minorities Affairs Department, Dr. Khatu Mal Jeewan said Sindh Assembly has taken a historic step today by passing the Sindh Minorities Rights Commission 2015 which will ensure protection of Minorities residing in the province with more force. It shows the commitment of Sindh government towards the rights of minorities. This he said while talking to a delegation of Development Alternative Incorporate (DAI) who called on him in the leadership of Nazeer Mahar at his office on Thursday.

Dr. Khatu Mal stressed the need to promote interfaith harmony for the stability and security of the country. He informed that security surveillance cameras would be installed in the worship places of minorities for beefing-up security arrangements. Earlier, Mr. Nazeer Mahar informed about the working of their organization and added that his organization would like to work with Minority Affairs Department on the issues of minorities particularly related to the law and order. He said that they will share their experiences with the Minority Affairs Department in order to ensure the rights of minority in Sindh Province.

On the occasion, Secretary Minority Affairs Department, Abdul Haleem Shaikh briefed about the progress and achievements of the Department adding that around Rs. 500 Million has been allocated for renovation of the oldest temple Sadhoo Bella. He further informed that the grievances centre at the divisional level had also been setup for redressal of complaints of minority communities.
