Sindh Cabinet Approves Recruitment in Government Departments: Advisor Information

Karachi, January 07, 2019 (PPI-OT): Sindh Cabinet has given approval to start recruitment process in all departments against grade 01 to 15 vacant posts adding that a committee has been formed to review legal formalities and present its recommendations in this regard. Advisor to Chief Minister on Information, Law and Anticorruption stated this while briefing newsmen after Sindh cabinet meeting on Monday. The Advisor said that Sindh Cabinet chaired by Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah has discussed in detail thirty point long agenda which lost for four hours.

He said that Sindh cabinet has given approval for creation of separate department of Investment by abolishing Sindh Board of Investment to encourage foreign investment in the province. Regarding allotment policy of government residences, he added that it was decided to give one time waiver to those employees residing in the government accommodation illegally and added that a three member committee comprising Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh, Minister Information Technology Nawab Taimoor Talpur and Advisor Information Barrister Murtaza Wahab, has been formed to review the existing allotment policy of government residence and work out recommendation to rationalize it.

He said that Provincial cabinet has cancelled illegally allotted of 70,000 acres forest land in the province and added that Chief Minister Sindh ordered to launch an operation through Rangers and Police to retrieve 145,245 acres forest land. He said that Sindh cabinet has directed HESCO and SEPCO to complete installation of Automatic Meter in government housing colonies by May 2019. He said that an agreement was signed between Sindh government and HESCO/SEPCO for installation of automatic meter system and according to agreement Sindh government and power companies to bear 50% expenses each and added that Sindh government had paid Rs. 170.382 million to HESCO and Rs. 211.002 million to SEPCO.

He informed that process of installing meters has been delayed. He further said that Sindh government had also paid Rs. 27.398 billion to Hesco/ Sepco in respect of electricity bills from July 2010 to July 2016. He said that installation of meter has been delayed on part of power companies. He informed that today Sindh Cabinet has also approved Rs. 513.73 million for Hesco and Rs. 555.82 to Sepco for monthly payment in terms of electricity bills. He said that the cabinet has fixed Rs. 182 per 40Kg minimum price for sugarcane crop for the season 2018-19, while minister agriculture has been authorize to form Market Committees.

Provincial Advisor informed that Sindh cabinet has approved the fares of Qingqui/ motorcycle rickshaw. According to approval Rs. 10 per passenger for up to six kilometers Rs. 15 for above six kilometers has been fixed. He said that Chief Minister Sindh has directed to register all qinqui rickshaws. Barrister Murtaza Wahab said that Sindh cabinet has approved the amendment in section 27 of Local Government Act, 2013 regarding no confidence move and added that now Mayors, Deputy Mayors, Chairmen and Vice Chairmen could be removed with simple majority instead of 2/3rd majority.

He further informed that minister local government has been authorized to nominate members for the local body various authorities. He said that Sindh Injured Persons Compulsory Treatment Act has been approved and four member committee comprising Health Minister Dr. Azra Pechuhu, Advisor Law Barrister Murtaza Wahab, Secretary Health and Secretary Law, has been formed to finalize it for tabling in the Sindh Assembly.

He informed that It will be mandatory for all hospitals to provide treatment to injured persons brought to any hospital. He said that Sindh government has approved a package for Thar Coal Project affected people and 757 affected families of block II would be provided compensation. Advisor Information said that Sindh cabinet has also approved the renewal of contract of Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan Rajpoot as Chairman Charter Inspection and Evaluation Committee for another term.
