Sindh Chief Minister regularize 2601 employees of LBOD

Karachi, January 10, 2018 (PPI-OT):Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has regularized the services of 2601 contingent LBOD employees. It may be recalled that the administrative control of Nawabshah Unit LBOD Stage-I was transferred from WAPDA to Irrigation department in the beginning of 1999, where that of Sanghar and Mirpurkhas Unit was handed over in the end of 1999 along with assets.

The administrative control of Spinal Drain, KPOD and Tidal Link along with the Workshop at Baloch Band was also transferred from WAPDA to MD SIDA, Hyderabad. In this way, the employees who reported to director SCARP North Rohri, Nawabshah were 697 and those who reported to MD SIDA Hyderabad were 1904. The total number of contingent or work-charge employees come to 2601.

On the instruction of Sindh chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah their posts (SNE) were created in 2016-17 and the chief minister has approved a summary to regularize their services. The chief minister in order to give legal cover to the regularization of 2601 employees of LBOD has directed Secretary Irrigation to draft an ACT for presentation in the cabinet and then in the assembly.
