Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah marked World Down Syndrome Day by reaffirming the provincial government’s commitment to the well-being and inclusion of individuals with Down Syndrome.
He emphasized that children with Down Syndrome deserve focused attention and care. Equal opportunities for individuals with Down Syndrome reflect the values of a responsible society, he noted.
The Chief Minister highlighted that the Sindh government is actively implementing measures for the welfare of children with Down Syndrome. Education, rehabilitation, and employment opportunities are being made available to help them become contributing members of society.
Special education centers and rehabilitation facilities have been established across the province, with more in progress. Free medical services and physiotherapy are also being provided for individuals affected by Down Syndrome.
Awareness campaigns for parents and teachers are underway to ensure better upbringing and support for children with the condition.
He reaffirmed that efforts will continue to make individuals with Down Syndrome active citizens of society. On World Down Syndrome Day, the Sindh government renewed its commitment to protect the rights and improve the lives of children with special needs.
