Sindh collects Rs53,442.891 million tax

KARACHI: Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department Mukesh Kumar Chawla informed Thursday that tax collection from July 2021 to November 2022 made by the Excise and Taxation Department Sindh in the current financial year is Rs53,442.891 million tax in various heads.

According to the details, Rs3850.562 million were collected in the form of motor vehicle tax, Rs46989.290 million in infrastructure cess, Rs172.703 million in professional tax and Rs3.304 million in the term of cotton fee.

Chawla termed the overall situation of tax collection as satisfactory. He asked the defaulters to deposit their taxes on time to avoid any untoward situation. He also advised tax defaulters to save their time and avail the facility of online tax filing as per their convenience.

Meanwhile, Sindh Services Tribunal will observe the winter holidays with the effect from 26 Dec 2022 to 09 Jan 2023. During winter holidays, the Tribunal will observe the following timings:

Monday to Saturday (excluding Friday) 9:00 am to 01:30 pm while on Friday 09:00 am to 12:30 noon. During the period of winter holidays, appeals will be received daily on working days, as usual.
