Karachi, January 12, 2018 (PPI-OT):The Sindh Government has decided to approach the federal govt to duly register Chinese nationals coming to the province through land routes keeping in view alarming increase in instances of skimming devices being installed at bank ATMs to steal data of account holders. A statement issued here on Friday quoted Sindh Law Minister Ziaul Hassan Lanjar as saying that provincial govt would write to the federal govt to do legislation so that the province could duly register Chinese nationals visiting the province.
The Law minister said that at present Sindh govt didn’t have the data of Chinese nationals living in the province. He said that federal govt should adopt legislation to duly register Chinese nationals coming to Pakistan through land routes. The Law minister said that Sindh govt had been trying to get registered Chinese nationals visiting Sindh. He said that at present federal govt did possess data of Chinese nationals visiting Pakistan by air but it didn’t have the data of Chinese people coming to the country through land routes. He said that data regarding Chinese companies working in Pakistan was also present.
The Law minister said that any Chinese national hiring any residential accommodation on rent basis in Sindh would also be required to duly register himself with the police station concerned. He said that under the proposed policy, the unregistered Chinese coming to the province through land route would be required to get the NoC from the Sindh Home Department before opting to reside or do business anywhere in the province.
