Sindh Governor Kamran Khan Tessori hosted a meeting at Governor House with Italian Ambassador Ms. Marilina Armellin and Senior Advisor of the Italian Ministry of Defense, Francesco Mario Talo to boost bilateral ties.
According to a statement issued from the Governor House on Sunday, the Italian Consul General in Karachi, Dalino Giurdanella, and Deputy Head of Mission Augusto Palmieri were also present during the meeting.
Key discussions centered on enhancing bilateral trade, fostering investment, and exploring opportunities for delegation exchanges between Pakistan and Italy. The Sindh governor underscored the strong and historic ties between the two nations and invited Italian investors to tap into the potential of Sindh’s diverse sectors. He highlighted Sindh’s commitment to strengthening trade relations with Italy.
The Senior Advisor of the Italian Ministry of Defense expressed Italy’s keen interest in various development opportunities within the province.
During their visit, the Italian delegation toured Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s historic room and praised Governor Tessori’s initiatives, such as the ongoing ration drive and IT skill development courses.
In a symbolic gesture of environmental cooperation, the Italian ambassador and the senior advisor participated in a tree plantation drive at Governor House. The visit also included a ceremonial flag-raising event featuring the national anthems of Pakistan and Italy, symbolizing the strong diplomatic bond between the two countries.
To commemorate the occasion, Ms. Marilina Armellin penned her remarks in the Governor House guestbook. Earlier, the Italian dignitaries were welcomed with a Guard of Honor, underscoring the significance of the visit.
