Sindh govt seeks lists of Covid-killed healthcare workers

KARACHI:Sindh Health Department has sought lists of healthcare professionals who passed away due to Coronavirus in Sindh to pay compensation and directed heads of hospitals send lists in a week.

Director General Health Services Sindh in a letter, stated that provincial cabinet, government of Sindh in its meeting held on 27 April is pleased to allow compensation of Rs 1,000,000 to the family/legal heirs of the employees of government of Sindh (both regular and contractual) who expired during their service due to COVID-19, beside other benefits admissible to the families of deceased civil servants under relevant.

In this connection, it is therefore requested that the lists along with (checklist) of all health profession’s (employees) who have died during performing their services in COVID-19 related duties duly verified by medical superintendent/ DHOs/ principals/ / executive directors concerned may be submitted within a week so that individual cases may be forwarded to competent authority for approval and release of funds during the current financial year 2020-21.

Moreover, office of the Director General Services Sindh, Hyderabad, is requested to nominate a focal person who may be contacted to the legal heirs of the deceased families to collect the required documents from them and prepare their cases and timely furnish the same to Health Department Secretariat for expediting the whole process.
