Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister Hafiz Hafeez-ur-Rehman says Smart Meters and cable project would be initially introduced in Gilgit to save electricity during winter season.
Presiding over briefing session of Power department in Gilgit he said Smart Meters pilot project in Allama Iqbal Town remained successful to save energy.
He directed officials of power department to improve billing system and ensure recovery of outstanding bills timely.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister visited Gilgit city and inspected construction and repairing works of roads costing 540 million rupees.
