The Bank of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (BAJK) has inaugurated its 88th branch in the remote area of Rahim Kot, District Chakar, facilitating the provision of financial services to the people of the area. Speaker of Azad Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Chaudhry Latif Akbar, and Minister for Finance and Cooperation/Chairman of the Bank, Khan Abdul Majeed Khan, jointly inaugurated the branch by cutting the ribbon and unveiling the plaque. Chaudhry Latif Akbar also opened his personal account in the new branch.
The inaugural ceremony was attended by BAJK President/CEO Shahid Shahzad Mir, other senior officials, and a large number of people from the area. This branch will serve a large population, including several villages in and around Rahim Kot.
Rahim Kot has various government facilities, including educational institutions, health care centers, government offices, and a community hall. This new bank branch is expected to boost economic development in the area and facilitate financial transactions for students, farmers, traders, and the general public. Local residents expressed gratitude for the establishment of the new branch, calling it a significant step in regional development. They emphasized the convenience of accessing banking services locally, eliminating the need to travel to distant areas.
Shahid Shahzad Mir reiterated the bank’s commitment to providing quality financial services to people in remote areas. He assured that the institution intends to expand its network across Azad Kashmir to provide modern banking facilities to a larger population. The ceremony concluded with prayers for the development of the bank, Azad Kashmir, and the country.
