Karachi:Pakistan Baseball Federation (PBF) has confirmed the participation of Pakistan team in the Asian Under-18 Baseball Championship, which will run from September 6 to 12 in Taiwan.
President PBF Syed Fakhr Ali Shah has said that PBF has informed the Baseball Federation of Asia in a letter to participate in the championship.
The top eight ranked teams from Asian countries will take part in the championship, including Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China, Pakistan, Hong Kong, Philippines and Sri Lanka. He added that the Asian Under-12 Baseball Championship will also be played in Taiwan in November this year and PBF wants to send the respective team in this event as well.
He further said that PBF is looking forward to government’s support to help the federation send Pakistan teams in these events, where participation would help the team either maintain or improve ranking. In Pakistan fails to participate then they would lose their standing in the rankings.
