Karachi:Former Pakistan cricket team skipper Misbah-ul-Haq, who presently holds important binary roles of head coach and chief selector is unimpressed with swashbuckling batsman Sharjeel Khan’s fitness.
Misbah, who coached Islamabad United in the unfinished fifth edition of Pakistan Super League, said that Sharjeel need to improve his fitness. Hailing from Hyderabad, Sharjeel made his comeback after two years of absence due to spot-fixing scandal in 2017 and his subsequent suspension. He joined Karachi Kings in the fifth edition.
Although the winners are yet to be decided in PSL 5, but the bottom-rock sixth position of Islamabad United was confirmed before the tournament was called off amid coronavirus threat.
However, Misbah was not disappointed to coach Islamabad United. He said that all the teams were roughly equally at par with each other and Islamabad United was in top four till the very end.
Meanwhile, Misbah wants PSL 5 to end on field and the winners should not be decided on the basis of points table.
