(Squash): Jansher to coach youngsters in KPK

Karachi:Former World Champion Jan Sher Khan will train youngsters in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and has vowed to produce a world champion.

Jansher Khan will help KPK Directorate of Sports take steps to revive squash and nurture talent in the province. He added that he will play games with youngsters of the academy and also train them.

Jansher said that the government has fulfilled his desire to train children of the province by providing him coaching opportunity. He said that he would do his best to fill the gap created in the game of squash and give the country a new world champion.

During a media briefing at the Peshawar Sports Complex with Director General Sports Asfandyar Khan and Director Operations Syed Saqleen Shah, Jansher praised the facilities available to athletes in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa.

He said that squash is one of the only few sport in which coaching and training is very important.

“Due to lack of good training and coaching, the best talent of the province is being wasted,” he said.

Asfandyar Khan said that the coaching of former world champion was a matter of honor for the players of the province. He said that the provincial government is taking various steps for the promotion of squash.

“Eight new courts are in the final stages of completion under the Revival of Squash project,” he said.
