Sri Lankan Board Pressurizing Its Players for Pakistan Tour

The Sri Lankan board has started pressuring its players for the upcoming tour to Pakistan, where the team is supposed to play 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is.

However, some players are still on the fence about traveling to Pakistan and instead want to feature in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL).

The CPL is scheduled to commence from 4th September, which will clash with the dates for the tour to Pakistan.

In order to resist the demands from the players, Sri Lankan has temporarily stopped issuing No Objection Certificate (NOC) to its players for the CPL until a meeting is held between the board and the players.

Around 30 players have been summoned by the board who are in contention for the tour of Pakistan and they will be told in clear terms what is expected of them.

Earlier, reports suggested that Sri Lankan board only issued NOCs on the condition that these players will come to Pakistan if they are required by the national team. However, now, players want to play the entire season without any terms or conditions.
