Stagnant rainwater not drained out in Larkana’s low lying areas

LARKANA: Stagnant rainwater after last night’s thunderstorm could not be drained out of the city’s low lying areas which include Bhains Colony, Murad Wahan, Rahmatpur, Allahabad, Khaliq Colony, Luhar Colony, Jousar Mill, Nishtar Road, Alo Gohar Abad, Gajampur, Rasul Abad, Bakrani Road and other localities due to which the residents suffered difficulties.

The district and municipal administration along with necessary equipment came out in the evening and started draining out stagnant rainwater from the selected areas but the rainwater from backward areas was yet to be removed. Electricity supply remained off due to which draining out rainwater was also delayed. The residents whose streets are still without pavers suffered the most as their streets became slippery.

Advocate Bilal Abbasi, Amir Shah, Imtiaz Abbasi and others said that Nishtar Road is one of the major roads in Larkana but it has always been ignored for political vendetta which mostly remains inundated with overflowing sewage on other days irrespective of rain. They said that politically influential people have ruined the city of Larkana for their ulterior, neferious motives and discrimination and they are not treating all the localities, residents, streets and roads equally. They demanded that pavers be laid everywhere and cleanliness must also be maintained without any bias in Larkana city.
