Stop bloodshed in IOK, global community urged

Srinagar, July 02, 2019 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL) has urged the international community and world human rights organizations to play role in stopping the ongoing bloodshed in the territory. The JKPL Chairman, Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, in a statement issued in Srinagar said everyday Kashmir witnesses killing, harassment, frequent searches and cordon operations. He urged New Delhi to stop killing Kashmiris and resolve the Kashmir dispute as per the aspirations of Kashmiri people.

Mukhtar Waza advocated peaceful and meaningful dialogue among Pakistan, India and the real Kashmiri leadership for bringing about a durable settlement of the Kashmir dispute. He appealed to the UN Human Rights Council, world powers and international human rights organisations to take notice of the unabated gross human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Hurriyat leader, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, in a statement said for the lasting solution of the Kashmir dispute, the Indian state must shun state violence and uphold international law, respect UN charter especially the UN resolutions on Jammu and Kashmir. “We understand the universal principle of right to self-determination is the only road through which peace can be achieved in Jammu and Kashmir,” he added. Jammu and Kashmir Islami Tanzeem Azadi in a statement paid glowing tributes to the martyrs of 13th July 1931.
